A Few Words About Me
Susan Porter is a native of Oklahoma City. The daughter of Oklahoma’s first African American State Senator, E. Melvin Porter, Susan has spent her life serving others and personally striving for excellence. It has often been said that leaders aren’t born, they are raised. This statement could not be more true. In Susan’s case, her natural, God given abilities were developed over time by her parents, teachers, employers and through her personal experience.
Susan Porter has always known what she wanted and has never been afraid to go for it. As Susan would say, “You can’t be afraid to fail. Fear of failure will paralyze you and you will never take a step forward. I have never feared failure. At least I know I tried”. Her first leap of faith was putting her Spanish skills to work when she started Porter Language Learning Services, a business focused on teaching Spanish to professionals. Susan is not only a business owner but has also had proven success climbing the corporate ladder. She is a Regional Director of Operations for Heartland Dental. Susan also partners independently with small and large companies providing leadership training to current and future leaders. She specializes in conflict resolution, leadership development, motivating team members, customer service excellence, goal setting and effective communication. As dedicated as she is to her career and helping others, she is also mom to an amazing son.
