Affirmations - Week One
The most important person we talk to and about is ourselves. Unfortunately, the words we sometimes chose when we speak to and about ourselves are not always positive.
For many, it is hard to accept a compliment. We diminish the compliment by pointing out what we think is wrong. "Oh Susan, your hair is so pretty." "Really?! Ugh, I need to have my roots done!" Wouldn't it be easier to simply say thank you?
When was the last time you told yourself you are great? You are beautiful, smart, funny and deserving of all things wonderful. What narrative of your life would you want to re-write?
It's time to give yourself permission to only think of yourself in the best way.
Whether you believe what you are going to say today or not, start by affirming. Affirm who know you are. Affirm who you are becoming. Affirm the person GOD created you to be.
Let's start one day at a time. Self love is the core of who we are. If we are unable to see the beauty that lives within our soul, no one else will. What message do you need to give to yourself? What is your positive affirmation?
As easy as it may be for me to say you need to speak and write down your positive affirmations, figuring out what to say to yourself can be very hard.
Try this:
I am worthy of all things wonderful in my life.
I give my best in everything I do.
I deserve to be happy, healthy, strong and loved.
I love me!
Take a moment and think about what is important to you. How do you feel about yourself? What positive words do others say about you that you struggle to believe or accept? If you could speak into existence one thing positive about yourself into your life, what would it be?
Your Affirmation-Fill in the blank:
I ____________________________________________.
This week will focus on ONE affirmation. Repeat your affirmation to yourself throughout the day. Write it on a sticky note, take a picture with your phone, email or text y our affirmation to yourself. Repeat your affirmation 7 times during the day (in the morning, five times throughout the day, and before bed). Whatever you affirm today is the affirmation you will repeat every day this week.
My affirmation (they are song lyrics)
I am healthy, I am wealthy, I am rich, I am that chic. I am gonna go get that bag and I'm not gonna take your s@*t :). I am protected, well respected, I'm a queen, I'm a dream. I do what I wanna do and I'm who I wanna be, cause I am me!
